Game 60: Super Stacker 2

Home

Take your stacking skills to another level, quite literally, with this second instalment on the Super Stacking franchise. There's various shapes: squares, circles, rectangles and triangles, all of which require the same treatment.
You've got to stack them in such a way that they stay stacked for the duration of the timer, or all the faces revert to a smile. There are four stages of difficulty to work with - four big slabs of fun.

Game 55: Fantastic Contraption

Home

Fantastic Contraption is a physics puzzle game in which the objective in each level is to move all red objects into a rectangular goal area. To do this, you are given a blue rectangular building area and a few different materials in which you can build your device. Standing in your way, however, are a variety of obstacles, ranging from gaping gaps to a sea of circles bent on destroying your red-object-mover-apparatus.
To make your machine, click on the type of material you want, and then click or drag in the light blue "building area" to place it. At your disposal are three different wheels—a clockwise spinner, a counter clockwise spinner, and a regular wheel—as well as two different connectors—a solid "stick" and "water" rod, which can pass through other walls and wheels, but not the environment. Each of these objects has nodes (represented by small, light gray circles) that other objects can attach to so you can create more complicated contraptions.

One nice feature about this game is the keyboard shortcuts. A couple especially useful ones are:
[Shift]+mouse to move items. Note that if you click on a node when using this technique, only that connection will move, whereas if you click on any other part of the structure, the entire device will move. Also, you can use [Shift] click to pan around the level by clicking on the background.
[Command]+mouse (or Ctrl, for Windows users) to delete items.
[Space] to start or stop a test.

Game 28: Tetris

Home

It's most likely you've come to play Tetris through many hours of button-prodding on the Nintendo Game Boy.  But the real hero is inventor Alexey Pajitnov, a Russian genius with a fixation for puzzles and an affinity with beards [brains and style!].  Here is a tribute recreation from Paul Neave.
Here's how you play.  Shaped blocks (called tetrominoes by the way) fall into a pit where you need to arrange them so they form a complete horizontal line.  Once a line without gaps is created, it disappears and the blocks above fall down.  The more lines you create simultaneously, the more you score.
Remember to take a break every few hours or your eyes will actually start seeing everything square (I tell you this from experience!).

Move - arrow keys                          Pause game – P
Fast drop – down key                      Quit game – Q
Rotate clockwise – up key or X         Rotate c/clockwise – Z

Game 16: Incredibots

Home

IncrediBots is a physics-based webtoy which gives you a handful of simple tools and sets you free to explore your creative impulses. Draw shapes, connect them with joints, and tweak their basic properties to create living, moving, and functioning 'bots that can perform any task!
Because of the enormous flexibility of IncrediBots, you'll need a couple of minutes to familiarize yourself with the options at your disposal. A set of tutorial levels introduces the basics and will only take you a few moments to complete. The game also features a set of challenge levels with a few dozen (optional) tasks to work through, including moving objects around, climbing obstacle courses, and building catapults to hurtle shapes through the air. The real power (and fun) though, is in the sandbox mode, where you begin with a blank template and let your imagination run wild. When everything is ready to roll, click the "play" button to see your creation come to life!
It may all seems a little complex at first, but don't worry, it isn't. Complete the tutorial levels, which will take all of 5-10 minutes, and you'll be fully versed in IncrediBots creation. Enjoy!

Game 14: 3D Logic

Home

3D Logic is a fantastic puzzle game developed by Alex Matveev. The goal of the game is really simple: connect each pair of same-coloured blocks with an unbroken line without crossing over another colour.
Controlling the 3D cube with your mouse, you must click on a coloured block and drag along the empty spaces to create a line that connects the pair. As there is no time limit, don’t worry if you make a mistake in the process of drawing a line. Just use the undo or restart buttons.
With beautifully smooth graphics, an automatic save which allows you to come back later, and clever gameplay, 3D Logic is a well designed and addictive puzzler. Expect to spend a couple of hours (or more) to complete all 30 levels.

To see more detailed rules use the 'Help' option.

Game 6: Bloxorz

Home

When I first saw Bloxorz, my first thoughts were "How thrilling can moving a block around be...", three hours later I had my answer. I reached level 22 (of 33) before having to throw in the towel, foolishly I didn't make a note of the level's passcode so I couldn't start back at that level (be warned!).
The aim of the game is to get the block to fall into the square hole at the end of each stage, not nearly as easy as it sounds. Along the way you'll find plenty of bridges and switches to test your logic and try your patience.
If you like logic puzzles, you'll love Bloxorz. Just make sure you don't have to be anywhere for a while!
