Game 85: Ring Mania

Home

Ring Mania is a simple game where you have a rotating circle in the middle (use the left and right arrows to rotate it) and colored rings falling from the top. Match three rings with the same color to make them pop and score points. Simple in premise, infuriatingly in practice!

Game 81: Cuber Xtreme

Home

Cuber Xtreme is a well-polished game where you have to push cubes around to match colors and make them vanish. There are many different types of cubes as well, from joker ones that can be combined with any color to pet cubes that give you one free push. The first levels work as a basic tutorial, and the fun starts after that!

Game 74: Jail Break 2

Home

Stupid cops. If it wasn't for them, I could waltz out of here. Now is the time for sneakiness. And there's no one sneakier than me...
This is Jail Break 2, the game of sneaking about trying to avoid the gazes of your captors, whilst finding a way to escape. Basic but addictive, this is a sure-fire time killer!

Game 72: Arkanoid

Home

Just in case you weren't around in the '80s, Arkanoid was an arcade game developed by Taito in '86, based on Atari's Breakout games of the '70s. This authentic remake of the original game is one of the best I've come across, and has entertained me no end! So take control of the good ship "Vaus", and avenge the untimely destruction of your mothership... the Arkanoid. (One of my favourite games EVER!)

Game 71: Hedgehog Launch

Home

Like the little prickly wonders in the Beatrix Potter books, this hedgehog is cute. Unlike them he is not safety conscious, quite the opposite in fact. The ultimate aim to launch him into space but he is going to crash to earth a good few times before you succeed. In order to gather the right skills and equipment (including funky goggles) to get your chap into space you need to pick up coins and buy upgrades with them. The final achievement is worth it though: so beautiful, so vast.

Use the mouse to drag and release the hedgehog and then use the left and right arrow keys to power the left and right boosters and, once you've got them, the up arrow to fire yourself higher, and the down arrow to release your parachute.

Game 70: Doeo

Home

Raitendo seems to have a sort of warped sense for the absurd. Put together a cute little hilltop scene, with a nice lake, and blue skies. Then throw Doeos at it until they are popping literally everywhere. If you don't know what a Doeo is then SHAME on you. They're those pink, dog-squares from... err... from... the recesses of Raitendo's mind, I suppose?
For each level, the maddening, yet addictive, voice will tell you how many Doeos you have to get (and by 'get' we mean pass the mouse over) and how long you have in which to get 'em. They will then appear all over the place and you just whirl your mouse around until it's time up, and hope that you got the blighters. The final level is the Doeo King, but we'll let you find out how to take him on.

Game 69: Bookworm

Home

In a nutshell: make words out of the letter tiles and get points for doing so. But don't think you can just get away with lots of three-letter words (like And or The), because shorter ones produce burning fire tiles which will set the library on fire if they reach the bottom of the screen before you can make words out of them. The absence of any 'against the clock' element makes this a somewhat leisurely puzzler if you like that sort of thing.

Game 67: SuPuzzle

Home

Connect all 3 houses to the water, eletricity and gas suppliers without crossing any lines. Simple, right?

Instructions / Controls:
Click on a utility and then select the house you want to connect it to.

Game 66: Push

Home

Run and jump with one hand, warp reality with the other. Ian Snyder's Push is a platform game with an exciting and inventive twist that lets you reshape levels in real-time with an omnipotent force bubble. Plus you can make your own levels for others to tear asunder.

Game 65: Scarygirl

Home

Scarygirl is the sort of game that we dream about. It is enormous. It is hours long. It is at least five games rolled seamlessly into one (and that's before you take into account the eight classic console games you can unlock!). It has amazing graphics. It has an incredible intro. It is easy. It is difficult. It has replayability. It is innovative.
This is a platformer, in which you play the scarygirl of the title. You must jump about the pretty cartoon worlds picking up gems and fish, and beating enemies. You have to find your friends and gather information, build a motorbike, drive it around and all this in some of the most fabulous surroundings you can imagine. Think about if Tim Burton made a game... then make it better - then you have this. Astounding.

Game 64: Stickman Madness

Home

Those stickmen might seem innocent enough when you're doodling them on that pad next to your phone, but they have a life of their own in this violent award winning shoot-em-up.
Your hitman is taking out similarly looking burnt-match looking gentleman with a penchant for gun-play. You just have to blow them away. You have to be very quick on the aim and even quicker on the trigger.

Controls:
Use the mouse to aim, left mouse button to shoot, and the spacebar to reload your gun.

Game 63: Boxhead - The Rooms

Home

Use your savvy - and some BIG guns - to stave off the zombie apocalypse in this, perhaps the cream of the zombie-game crop, Boxhead: The Rooms.
This new version focuses on the game's most entertaining activity - blowing up hordes of zombies in a selection of confined arenas (with even more available in yet another sequel), using everything from shotguns, grenades and rockets to chain reactions of exploding oil drums.

Controls:
Arrow keys to move, Space to fire, 0-9 to select weapons, P to pause.

Tips:
Zombies can't get through a seamless wall of barrels (though you can), so sometimes you can "seal off" their entrance point(s) then just pick them off with grenades.

Game 62: Pool Master

Home

Play 8 Ball Pool against the Computer - Play in Practice Mode - Arcade mode - hone your skills. Try to pass the 8 Challenge Levels with various difficulties to become the Pool Master. Have fun!

Game 59: Electric Man 2

Home

You stand alone in a Street Fighter style arena, pulsing with a halo of electrical energy that glows brightly in a colour of your choosing. It's enough to make even Blanca blush in the only colour he knows. You must fight and defeat all-comers to claim the electrical crown.
All that said, this game really is no match for the likes of the aforementioned Street Fighter, or even Tekken for that matter. You have a nice array of moves including some matrix-esque ones, and the enemies look alright, but things don't really change, they just throw more enemies at you until you finally bite the bullet. Fun all the same though!

Game 58: Warfare 1917

Home

War isn't fair. This is a fact that you become painfully (although less painfully than in real war I imagine) aware of once you get into Warfare 1917. Set in the trenches at the end of WWI you can choose to take control of either the British or the Germans and you must deploy your troops in order to push the enemy back and claim their territory.
As you progress (surprisingly quickly) through the ranks and levels, you are awarded new troops to play with, new barrage weapons to control, and eventually a tank to rumble forward with under your command. Be careful though, as in the heat of battle your troops can be struck with fear should too many of their comrades fall by their side. Your country needs you!

Controls:
Click on the troop type of your choice and wait until loads, when it will join the battle. Then you can choose another troop - some take longer to reload than others, but all options will reset themselves when you choose a new troop. Click the switch at the bottom of the trench to see the contents of that trench and to choose when to go over the top (only 3 troops per trench).
It might sount complicated, but it's easy once in the game.

Game 57: The Blue Beanie

Home

The Blue Beanie; A Samorostian, headwear-saving adventure from a new kid on the block.
Daphne Lim has made this adventure game with such a lovely mix of care, delicacy and humour that it's difficult not to fall for it. The plot begins with a happy family of white blob people living in a tree and washing their clothes.
Then the youngest has his beanie hat stolen by a big bird and so begins a quest with some nice interfaces, simple puzzles, cute music and pretty settings. If you liked Samorost, you'll like this. So help the little guy out won't ya?

Game 55: Fantastic Contraption

Home

Fantastic Contraption is a physics puzzle game in which the objective in each level is to move all red objects into a rectangular goal area. To do this, you are given a blue rectangular building area and a few different materials in which you can build your device. Standing in your way, however, are a variety of obstacles, ranging from gaping gaps to a sea of circles bent on destroying your red-object-mover-apparatus.
To make your machine, click on the type of material you want, and then click or drag in the light blue "building area" to place it. At your disposal are three different wheels—a clockwise spinner, a counter clockwise spinner, and a regular wheel—as well as two different connectors—a solid "stick" and "water" rod, which can pass through other walls and wheels, but not the environment. Each of these objects has nodes (represented by small, light gray circles) that other objects can attach to so you can create more complicated contraptions.

One nice feature about this game is the keyboard shortcuts. A couple especially useful ones are:
[Shift]+mouse to move items. Note that if you click on a node when using this technique, only that connection will move, whereas if you click on any other part of the structure, the entire device will move. Also, you can use [Shift] click to pan around the level by clicking on the background.
[Command]+mouse (or Ctrl, for Windows users) to delete items.
[Space] to start or stop a test.

Game 54: The Impossible Quiz 2

Home

The Impossible Quiz 2 is the sequel to one of the most challenging quizzes ever. Featuring more crazy questions, more absurd minigames and best of all, more insanity! Need I say more..?

Be patient when loading this one, it's a biggy.

Game 53: Dolphin Olympics 2

Home

Here we have Dolphin Olympics 2, a sequel with some great new features. Firstly, other sea creatures will now interact with you. In fact, you can earn more points by getting other fish to follow your lead and jump out of the water. Magic rings both above and below the water give you a quick speed boost and can help you reach the dizzy heights of outer-space (complete with 1950's sci-fi-movie-style music). There are some new tricks and secrets to discover as you try to swim, leap and tail-slide yourself onto the high score board. I was a big fan of the original Dolphin Olympics and the sequel does not disappoint. Although the mechanics and aim of the game are pretty much the same, this has a slightly different look to it, with significantly more detail added to the sea bed and background. Once again, the challenge is in chaining together strings of successive tricks to boost your multiplier and amass some massive scores. And the trick to that is ensuring that your re-entry to the water is perfect every time.

Whilst this is a great way to spend your five minute coffee break, this game will reward replay with new moves and ever higher places to explore. I'll leave you to discover most of the secrets that are hidden in this game, but if you run the game at different times of day or night, you will be pleasantly surprised (change your system clock and re-load the page if you don't believe me).

Game 51: Turnz

Home

An original and simple game where you have to turn the screen of the laptop to make the squares change of side and go to the goal.

You can play with this game but you have to know that you dont have to turn your head, you have to turn the game.

The only controls are the arrows to turn that you know and make fall the squares.
Play hard.
