Game 16: Incredibots

Home

IncrediBots is a physics-based webtoy which gives you a handful of simple tools and sets you free to explore your creative impulses. Draw shapes, connect them with joints, and tweak their basic properties to create living, moving, and functioning 'bots that can perform any task!
Because of the enormous flexibility of IncrediBots, you'll need a couple of minutes to familiarize yourself with the options at your disposal. A set of tutorial levels introduces the basics and will only take you a few moments to complete. The game also features a set of challenge levels with a few dozen (optional) tasks to work through, including moving objects around, climbing obstacle courses, and building catapults to hurtle shapes through the air. The real power (and fun) though, is in the sandbox mode, where you begin with a blank template and let your imagination run wild. When everything is ready to roll, click the "play" button to see your creation come to life!
It may all seems a little complex at first, but don't worry, it isn't. Complete the tutorial levels, which will take all of 5-10 minutes, and you'll be fully versed in IncrediBots creation. Enjoy!

Game 15: Risk

Home

Take over the world in this 'puterised version of the classic board game.
For those of you not geeky enough to already know the score here; You're the General, and it's your duty to invade neighbouring countries and defend your lands against enemy attack. RISK has always been a secret geeky addiction of mine, and this online version is definately a decent recreation. Use your mouse to choose territories and roll the dice. Protect and invade in an effort to dominate the world!

For more detailed instructions check out the in-game help under 'Play' -> 'Menu' -> 'Rules'.

Game 12: Asteroids

Home

Let me take you on a journey.  It's a short journey, I know you haven't got all day.  A journey to a world where lines ruled...
The year was 1979, and computers could only be made to draw two things: one was a line, and the other was also a line.  With clever arrangement, both these lines could be transformed into spaceships and big rocks and flying saucers.  And so, thanks to the line pioneers at Atari, we were blessed with the line-tastic Asteroids.
Your spaceship floats in space and you have to destroy all the asteroids, but the more you shoot the more you create.  Watch out for the UFOs which can shoot back, and be careful: you only have one ship for every 10,000 points scored.

Use the arrow keys to move         Pause game – P

Game 11: Samorost

Home

Wonderfully bizarre and surreal, Samorost is an adventure game that is full of clicky puzzles and beautifully rendered scenes, mixed with animations and various gadgetry with sound effects and music to suit the mood. It's not very long, but will keep you busy for just the right amount of time. I have fit this game to a similarly sized window to the other games, though it is best played at almost fullscreen size.
I hope you all enjoy this work of creativity and interactive art as much as I do.

Game 10: Portal

Home
A 2D online version of the original PC/XBOX360/PS3 game; Portal: The Flash Version includes over 40 levels, and has almost every feature the orinal game does, all in glorious 2D! If you're not familiar with the original game, Portal is an extremely frustrating and addictive puzzler, the basic idea being to use your portal gun to get to the exit on each level. Definately worth a look.

Left Mouse Button - launch a portal      R - close both portals
Arrow Keys - movement                       F - pick up an object
Q - launch a blue portal                       O - adjust graphics quality
E - launch a yellow portal                     Esc/P - pause game

Game 9: Fancy Pants Adventures

Home

Fancy Pants Adventures is a fast paced sidescrolling platformer, a bit like a cross between Sonic and Cool Spot. It's fun and frantic, in a pair of super cool fancy pants! Although the game is very short, this is only World 1 of Fancy Pants Adventures. Rest assured that World 2 will be making an appearance in the near future...
Just remember, run fast, run fancy!

Left and Right Arrows - Move
Down Arrow - Duck / Roll
Up Arrow - Enter door
S Key - Jump

Game 7: Treasure of Cutlass Reef

Home

Ahoy mateys! Here we be havin' a game fit for all you fellow pirates out there! Your the Captain of this fine pirate ship and you need to use your nautical skills to manuver and attack the enemy fleet, plundering the treasure! I've played loads of piratey games online, and I think Treasure of Cutlass Reef is up there with the best, though perhaps not playable for long periods of time? Still though, I enjoy it a lot and I hope you do too!
Check out the 'How To Play?' menu in-game, it'll only take 30 seconds and will help a lot.

Here are a few tips for you;
Try to engage as many ships as you can, because plundering a captured ship gives you more gold than destroying it and then plundering the wreck (though keep an eye on your crew numbers).
You can pause the game during battle with the P key.
If the game runs slowly with many ships on the scene, go into the options screen, and decrease the quality and particles number. It can drastically improve the performance.
If you spend more gold on crew on the first levels, you can engage more ships, which means more gold.
Enemy ships look out not to shoot at each other, but with some nasty maneuvers you can draw their fire on each other!

Game 6: Bloxorz

Home

When I first saw Bloxorz, my first thoughts were "How thrilling can moving a block around be...", three hours later I had my answer. I reached level 22 (of 33) before having to throw in the towel, foolishly I didn't make a note of the level's passcode so I couldn't start back at that level (be warned!).
The aim of the game is to get the block to fall into the square hole at the end of each stage, not nearly as easy as it sounds. Along the way you'll find plenty of bridges and switches to test your logic and try your patience.
If you like logic puzzles, you'll love Bloxorz. Just make sure you don't have to be anywhere for a while!

Game 5: Simon Says

Home

"Simon's a computer, Simon has a brain, you either do what Simon says or else go down the drain."  This was the slogan from the Simon Says toy of the mid 1980s, a classic I'm sure you'll agree. This version is a digital replica of that plastic piece of fun.
The idea of the game is a simple one, follow the pattern of lights and sounds for as long as you can remember them.  The lights show up faster the more sequences you correctly recall.
Okay, it's not quite the same thing... But if you're not lucky enough to have the original toy, or you're too lazy to replace the batteries, then this is the next best thing.

Use the mouse to select the lights, or the following keys:
Red light – R          Yellow light – Y
Green light – G      Quit game – Q
Blue light – B          Mute sound – M

Game 4: Cursor*10

Home

Although I've already posted a game today, it was technically for yesterday. So here's today's new game; I'll keep the introduction to this little gem as simple as the game itself.
In Cursor*10, all you have to do is reach the 16th floor.  You do this simply by clicking on the stairs on each level. Simple enough then. Question is, can you cooperate with yourself??

Game 1: Magic Pen

Home

Magic-Pen is a beautiful physics-based puzzle playground. Using the mouse, you must draw shapes to create bridges and swings, guiding the red ball to the flag. Making shapes and dropping them from the sky will set the ball in motion, you can also craft structures with hinges (both fixed and movable) for more complex maneuvers. The shapes you draw are affected by three basic principles: gravity, friction, and inertia. In other words, common sense physics.
Magic-Pen is one of my favorite online timewasters. It took me several hours to complete, and I enjoyed every minute. I hope you're as impressed with it as I was.
